We believe in hope, joy, motivation, and the capacity for effort and perseverance as key factors for youth development, peace, and prosperity.

The origin of our organization is in Zambia, in 1997, thanks to the prior work of its founding team, led by Carlos de Cárcer, in an integration program for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, using sports daily as a playful and educational tool within the community. In 1999 our organization was registered in Spain, and we soon began executing our first development cooperation programs in Sierra Leone and Nicaragua. Over time, professionals in international development cooperation, sports, and education, among others, joined our efforts. In 2002 we strengthened our awareness-raising activities in Spain and in 2004 began working on integration and intercultural programs. In 2003 our work in the United States began with registration and status acquisition. Thanks to the support of many individuals and institutions, Red Deporte has made a significant contribution to promoting sport as an instrument of social change in more than 20 countries, with the best pages still to be written.
